Beaches of India

Arjuna Beach, Goa
Anjuna Goa, 18 kms from Panaji is a popular beach area adjacent to Chapora fort- it was the haunt of the flower generation in the sixties - and is still popular with the younger generation. The Anjuna band plays for the beach party at night. Anjuna attracts a weird and wonderful collection of over monks, defiant ex-hippies, gentle lunatics, artists, artisans, seers, searchers, sybarites and itinerant expatriates who normally wouldn't be seen out of the organic confines of their health-food emporia in San Francisco or London.Full moon, when the infamous parties take place, is a particularly good time to be here if you want to indulge in bacchanalian delights.

Agonda beach, Goa
Agonda beach is a virgin stretch of beach 12Km from Palolem and, until recently, was undiscovered by tourists.
The waters are crystal clear and its easy to see the bottom of the shore while swimming. The fort of Cabo de Rama is not too far from Agonda beach. It is as yet undiscovered by most visitors. The fort is named afterLord Rama, the central figure of the Hindu epic Ramayana. The atmosphere of the fort creates a sense of history and drama that takes you back in time.

Kovalam Beach
Kovalam is an internationally renowned beach with three adjacent crescent beaches. It has been a favorite haunt of tourists, especially Europeans, since the 1930s.A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing. The leisure options at this beach are plenty and diverse-sunbathing, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programmes, Catamaran cruising etc. The tropical sun acts so fast that one can see the faint blush of coppery tan on the skin in a matter of minutes. Life on the beach begins late in the day and carries on well into the night.

Marine Beach
Golden sand, good surf and a shimmering clean blue sea, this in a nutshell, is Marina beach.
Marina beach is located on the eastern side of Chennai, adjoining the Bay of Bengal. Watching the sun set and rise from the beach is an enthralling experience. In the evenings, the beach is virtually a fair ground with various kinds of entertainment and food stalls lining the beach. This beach is counted among one of the longest beaches in Asia.

Mahabalipuram Beach
Mahabalipuram, also known, as "Mamallapuram" is 58-km, south of Chennai, nestling on the shores of the Bay of Bengal, was once a port of the Pallavas. Once a thriving port trading with any distant nations, Pallava chisels have breathed life into stone. The Pallavas art at this place emphasises robust earthly beauty, imbibed with life. These monumental splendours and the sunny beach resorts attract tourists from all over the world.
A crocodile farm, snake venom extracting centre, schools of art and sculpture and a wide choice of resorts along the beach draw holiday-seekers all round the year.
